How to become the face of your Fashion BrandAnyone who has followed me long enough knows that there are 3 major concepts I use to help build a successful Fashion Brands online, having the Right Mindset, Building Your List, and Marketing to that List.

And now I have a new favorite to add to that list: Becoming Visible.

You heard me say it before, and you’ve even read in my emails that you cannot expect to get a lot of sales if you are not in front of your potential customers as much as you can!

So, becoming Visible is a must! My favorite way of accomplishing this is by YOU becoming the face of your brand.

By “becoming the face” I don’t mean becoming the model (even though I feel that this could be a plus), but becoming the voice and the leader of your brand.

As I’ve mentioned many times, our Dream Customer is just like us. So, if you got to know her and hung out you could become very good friends.

This is exactly what happened to me with my swimwear customers.

When I started becoming more of a “real” person, instead of acting like I was the CEO of a multi-million dollar company in my ivory tower, that’s when my customers started relating with me and started sharing my brand with all of their friends.

This was one of the things that really fired up my rapid growth!

All of the sudden I had all of these customers sharing my website for free!!

How do I know?

Because, at that time I had a “Send a message to your friends” button on my website, and I remember seeing dozens and dozens of emails each day from customers sharing my brand with their friends.

Then I was able to get in contact with those friends, and I made more sales!

So, becoming more personal as a brand and becoming more you is key to your success.

The internet has created a pool of countless people all doing the same exact thing as we are, so the differentiator needs to be YOU!

There is only one YOU, and that should be the difference between someone buying from you or someone else.

So, share bits of your story and also bits of your personal life so she will relate to you even more!

Yes, most of us sell products, but that isn’t all that defines us, and that doesn’t mean that we can’t also share ourselves, especially with those people that are making our business a success!

In fact, this is what modern Marketing is about.

It’s about building a relationship with your Dream Customer.

And there is no better way to do that than sharing YOU, the person they choose to buy from.

So, you see, it makes a LOT of sense that you should become the face and voice of your brand.

Does it make sense?

I really hope it does!!!

I can see this concept already working for my clients.

When they become the face and voice of their brand, that’s when people start buying from them time and time again! Because they like them, and connect with them, just as you would a friend.

So, how can you start becoming the face of your Brand?

Easy!

Start by taking more pictures of yourself wearing your products. Even if you are a stylist and you sell your service, take pics of your looks!

Send more personal emails. Share your story and your Big WHY!

Write most, if not all, of your emails, and make them relate to you.

Use more of your true personality, tone, and voice.

Just by doing these few things now, you will notice a big difference in people buying.

DO NOT make the mistake I did in the beginning, where I signed off my emails as “Customer Service”.

Write your emails in your own voice, and sign off as YOU!

Even if you have a brand, the email should be sent by you! There is a person writing those emails….not a company! And people love doing business with other people!

So, go on and take action using all of the tips above and watch your sales grow!!!

How to Manage your Fashion Business and still run a familyThis is a question that I get all the time, and that’s why I thought I would share my answer here with you.

Even my best friends don’t understand how I make this happen. Not only do I have 2 businesses, but I have 4 kids! So, I might just be holding a secret that could help you manage your double life…LOL!

And to be honest, I really do!

First let me tell you the bad news…it’s not really something that you can learn how to do or achieve, it’s already inside of you, a part of your own personality.

I have to admit that I have a very “laid back” personality. A few years ago I would have said this was a disadvantage…in fact, this still comes up in many arguments with my hubby!

But, now I know that it is a huge advantage, even a blessing!

Of course, I’m not the type of laid back person who is also lazy, I just try not to make a big deal of things….

My laid back personality leads me to not make a big deal about how my house looks or how noisy my kids are (strangely, this has become music to my ears…LOL).

My secret, and I know most of you won’t like it or will think is too far out of reach, but I have a full time housekeeper in my house.

I know, a housekeeper might sound like a luxury to most, but to me it’s not only a necessity, but one of the smartest decisions I’ve made.

Being born and raised in Argentina, having a housekeeper in my house was a normal thing, and also a cultural norm. In fact, most apartments in Argentina come with an extra room for a housekeeper.

It wasn’t until I moved to the US that I realized that this was something that was out of reach for just about everyone I met.

My husband and I had very little money ourselves when we first moved to this country. Everything we had was invested into his business, leaving barely enough to cover basic living expenses.

At that time I only had one child, and very soon after my second son. So, I was still able to juggle my swim biz, the kids, and the house.

But, as soon as child #3 was on his way I got serious with my husband and told him, “Either we get some help, or I’m back to Buenos Aires!” And I really meant it!!!! So of course, we found a way to scrape together the money, and from that moment on I never looked back!

Of course, we weren’t able to hire someone full-time right off the bat, it was a progression. And this is exactly how I encourage you to do it.

I started by hiring someone 3 days a week for 4 hours a day. Soon it became 5 days a week for 8 hours. And when baby #4 came, we hired a live-in housekeeper. At that time I had to get rid of my kids playroom to make room for her to sleep, but it was worth it!

This is how I am able to live my life in an amazing way! Because I don’t do cleaning, laundry or cooking….and without these 3 things I’m the happiest mom and wife on earth!!!

It also frees up enough time for me to work on my businesses.

I get it! I hear your objection…I don’t have the money to spend on a housekeeper or cleaning lady!

But, let me tell you something….this is something that you may need, even before getting help for your business.

Freeing up time for yourself to concentrate on your business and other important things in your life will help you succeed faster than trying to do everything by yourself.

And to be honest, if you don’t delegate and manage your house first, it will be even harder to grow your Fashion Biz…especially, if you also have kids!

The truth is, you don’t have to spend a fortune….you can start with a few hours a week.

Think about this: Let’s say that today you only have 4 hours to work on your business, and you take 3 hours to work around the house.

Now imagine dedicating all that time, a full 7 hours a day, to your business. By working those extra 3 hours a day you will make more money (All the sudden you have 35 hours a week to dedicate to your business). And the money that you will be making will pay for the cleaning lady and more!

Let’s say that the cleaning lady comes twice a week, and she stays 4 hours each time. This means 8 hours a week, and you spend roughly $15 an hour. This means you are spending $120 a week.

If you don’t think you can make back this amount by working more hours at your business, then by all means, don’t bother.

But, if you do, then this is the solution for you!

Start little by little, and the more your business grows the more time you can hire your help.

So, this is my little secret. In order to grow your Fashion Biz you need to delegate your house work first!

Don’t look at it as a luxury. This is necessary for you if you want to grow your biz!

Believe me, I wouldn’t be able accomplish everything I have if I were doing everything by myself.

How to Convert Traffic Into Sales for your Fashion Business

How to Convert Traffic into Sales for your Fashion BusinessI bet that this is something you are really struggling with.

How do I know?

Because, this is something that comes up in my community often. It’s also one of the things I remember googling like crazy when I was growing my swimwear business.

Chances are that you are looking at your stats and have a couple thousand people visiting your website, but you’re lucky if even one of them buys…right?

Most people think this is a traffic problem, but it is not. It’s more of an attraction problem, and in order to convert traffic to sales you need to fix this problem.

One issue is that your website is not attracting your Dream Customer. Chances are she comes to your site but is not attracted by it long enough to make a purchase.

How do you solve this: You use imagery that she will identify or resonate with, and you share a message that calls directly to her.

Your message needs to be saying this is just for you!

So, these are 2 super important changes that you need to make on your website right now to attract her: Image + Message.

Once you have this in place, you need something else: a Freebie.

A freebie is a piece of information she will love to get in exchange for her email address.

And this is Huge!

Many fashion entrepreneurs offer a coupon code in exchange for their customers email address, and if you do this, not only are you giving them an incentive to buy now, you are getting a direct line to them in the future!

Why is this important?

Because, not everyone is ready to buy right away, and those who do may need a reminder to come back again.

You need to open this line of communication and give them a reason to buy. This is how you build your list from your traffic, and turn that traffic into sales!

Once you have these 2 things in place it’s time to bring in the traffic. Because when you do bring in your Dream Customers, they will take action! They will buy or sign up for your list!

Of course, if you get a sale that is a big win, but even if all they do is sign up for your list you should see that as a huge win as well.

Why? Because, now you have the opportunity to build a relationship with her, and through marketing consistently she will end up buying!

This is one of the ways I convert traffic into customers for my own business. By fixing these two areas on my website and by building a relationship with my Dream Customer.

Remember that your Dream Customer is just like you, so chances are she will want to buy what you are selling.

Now you know! It’s not a traffic problem, it’s an “attraction” problem. Your website needs to attract her and should make her want to stick.

However, this is only 1 of the things you can do, and it’s the perfect place to start. There are many other, more complex ways to turn traffic into customers, and I’ll make sure I cover them in a future post.

Do You Really Need A Website for Your Fashion Business

Do you really need a website for your fashion businessIf we were talking about this a few months ago, I would have told you that in order to make money selling online you need a website, email service provider and a landing page system.

However, something changed. Now I don’t believe you need a website in order to make sales!

You might think I’m crazy! After all, where do you sell your products if you don’t have a website?!

My answer: Your Facebook Group!

Let me tell you why I think this way now!

Last fall I started working with a new, amazing client, and in one of our sessions she took action on an inspired idea involving creating her Facebook Group in a very specific way.

And in couple of short months she made $20K in sales! A sum of money that she had never earned before in her business.

This left both of us very surprised and of course, super excited!

A few weeks ago I asked another client to implement just 1 strategy, and in only a week she made $1,500 using her Facebook Group.

So, this is how I came to the conclusion that you don’t need a website to make sales!

This is not to say that I think you shouldn’t have website or that you should tear down the one you currently have immediately. This is the “home” of your business after all.

I do, however, feel that if you are starting out and you don’t have one, you don’t necessarily need one to start selling!

Having said this, I have to make something very clear. With my clients I always begin by working on Mindset.

And if you’ve been following me for some time you know how important Mindset is for your success. So, I can attest to the major role that Mindset has played in my client’s grand success.

What I’m trying to say, is that if you create a Facebook Group tomorrow, it doesn’t mean you will start selling like crazy. Sorry :(

Unfortunately, that’s not the way it works. In reality, that’s not the way it happens with most strategies.

When I was earning my coaching certification last year there was this girl who was killing it from the beginning. She shared her strategies, and in fact, they were the same ones we all learned and used, but for some reason it wasn’t working for me and many others.

I even remember talking to our Coach about it, and she told me something very important. She said that you can use the same strategies, but if you don’t have the right Mindset it won’t work.

To be honest, I didn’t understand what she was saying until not very long ago. Now I see it with my own clients and people in my community.

They all expect to follow these strategies and see the same positive results every time.

What they don’t understand is that they don’t have the right Mindset to achieve the same results.

So, that said, I will go back to my Facebook Group solution. I’m going to share with you 3 tips that will help you make money.

Tip #1: Be consistent! Consistency is key to success in our business.

Tip #2: Build relationships! This is why Facebook Groups work. Because you are engaging and getting to know your potential customers, and they are getting to know you. This is very important to make sales!

Tip #3: Be You!!!! I can’t stress how important this is! Yes, some people will not like you, and if they don’t, then don’t worry because they wouldn’t be your customers anyway.

What you want to concentrate on are those who do love you, because they are the ones who will buy from you time and time again!

Building a Facebook group takes some time and thoughtful strategy. You cannot expect to grow it organically, or by word of mouth. It is a strategic selling tool and should be treated as such.
